About
Vigo arrived at our shelter two months ago in serious condition — he was found wandering alone on the street, extremely thin, exhausted and with an ugly wound on his back. His breed (Slovak hound) and fear of loud sounds tell all about his fate. In Croatia, hunting dogs often end up being thrown out on the street as soon as they show that they are too gentle to hunt or that they are afraid of shooting. Vigo has obviously lived through just that — he has been rejected because his soul is too gentle for rifles and hunting. Today his wounds have healed, he gained weight and showed us what a beautiful family dog is hiding in him: ✨ Big cuddle and gentle soul – adores people, squeezing and every bit of attention and warmth. ✨ Playful and curious – like a real hound, he loves exploring the surrounding area, sniffing around and enjoying nature walks. He is 🐕 good with other dogs – he is sociable, stable and gets along well with other muzzles. They are 🔊 afraid of loud noises – firecrackers, thunder and sudden shocks cause him discomfort (probably as a reminder of gunshots), so he is looking for patient foster parents who will give him a sense of security. Cat 🐱test – we do not know how it reacts to cats, but we will gladly do a test if the foster parents have a cat. Vigo is not a hunting dog — he is a dog for family, love, couch and long, peaceful walks. Share his story and help us find people who will appreciate his gentleness! Get to know him! 🐾
